The first week of January has gone by with many pets visiting our vets for health checks, vaccinations (as part of Vaccine Amnesty Month) and consultations. Our incredible vets covered it all and sent the pets home healthy and happy.
This is lovely but very, very naughty Louis who was brought in by his mum as he had decided it would be a very good idea to chew mums spectacles (!!) into rather a lot of small pieces.
Following this Louis started vomiting bile overnight and of course there is always a chance that Louis swallowed some of the lenses.
We took x-rays, bloods and Kate also performed an ultrasound.
At the moment all looks well but we will keep a very close eye 🤓 on Louis to see if he develops any other symptoms that could indicate a foreign body.
Louis has been a star patient🥇

The lovely Ellie and Daisy came in to see Alek for their annual health check and booster vaccinations.
It is essential to vaccinate our dogs and cats yearly to prevent them getting potentially fatal diseases.
If your dog or cat’s vaccinations have run out then please give us a call or book online as January is VACCINATION AMNESTY MONTH. This means you can re-start the vaccinations, (course of 2 injections) for the price of a booster. However, if your pet is a member of our amazing VIP Healthcare Plan, all vaccinations are included and you can make sure that they will not miss any booster while spreading the costs of treatments and vaccinations across the year!
Do you remember Riley? He came to us in July weighing over 16 kg with bilateral cruciate ruptures which required surgery with Shahar.
He came back in to see Shahar for his 6 month check, he is now walking perfectly and his weight is now a great 12.85 kg.
Keeping your dogs and cats at a healthy weight is essential to maintain a good level of mobility and an enjoyable life.
If you would like to check your dogs or cats weight then please contact the surgery and we will be happy to help. 🐾
