November was another busy month, as we welcomed lots of your cherished pets through our surgery doors. There were plenty of adorable puppies, a brave, blood-donating dog and even a
hidden squeaky toy! Find out more about our favourite moments from the month below…
This cheeky boy is Wilson. He is a 7 month old Border Terrier. 🐶 Wilson’s owners brought him to Streatham Hill Vets as they were worried he had swallowed a toy whilst at the park. He had also
started vomiting.
Wilson was admitted for hospitalisation and investigation. After some tests, it showed that there was an abnormal structure in the stomach. Wilson went for surgery and a large, smiley-faced toy was found in his stomach! 😮
Thanks to the fast action of his amazing owners, Wilson got treated quickly and was sitting up a few hours after his surgery. He was able to go home the following day to continue to recover with his owners. We look forward to seeing him for his post-surgery checks. 🥰
If you are worried that your pet has possibly eaten something, please don’t hesitate to book an appointment with the surgery for further advice.
Did you know that dogs can give blood too? This month, the gorgeous (and very brave) Snoop visited Streatham Hill Vets to donate his blood. 💙
One of our patients was in need of a blood transfusion due to an autoimmune disease which caused their body to attack their red blood cells. 😟
One of our nurses collected Snoop and bought him over to our Streatham Hill surgery where our nurses placed a catheter into his jugular vein and collected the blood. Snoop had a light sedation as
he was so happy to meet everyone. Once collected, he received treats and lots of cuddles from our staff for being such a brave boy! 🌟
BLOOD DONATION CRITERIA: 🩸
Your dog could save up to 12 lives a year with their donated blood- isn’t that amazing? 💖
Dogs who need transfusions, don’t need to be of the same blood type the first time they have one, making them pretty unique, which is why having a list is a great, easy and quick way of helping out a patient. 🥰
If you would like your loveable pet to be added onto our canine blood donor list then please contact our surgery for more information. It would be greatly appreciated by our team and our clients. 💗
This month, there were lots of adorable puppies that came to Parish Lane Vets for vaccinations and health checks. 💉
Aren’t they gorgeous? 😍
As you can imagine, our team couldn’t resist giving them all lots of cuddles! 🥰
