Hero Vets Save The Day

Date: 05 Feb 2020
By: admin

This week our hero vets have been very busy trying to save wonderful pets from heart diseases, sore eye and a tail injury. All the pets are fine and they will get back to their normal selves in no time!

Anya’s Heart Problems

Sweet little Anya ❤️ came to see us today for an ultrasound and x-rays.
Anya has had heart problems for quite some time and has been on heart medication ever since she was first diagnosed.
Lately this little bean has been coughing a lot more so our vet decided it was a good time to check on that wee heart of hers.
Anya’s mitral valve problems have unfortunately gotten a little worse so we have put her onto a different treatment regime. We will see Anya on a regular basis to see if the treatment will improve her condition.
This beautiful bundle has been an outstanding patient with us today

Smudge’s Tail Surgery

Smudge is thoroughly enjoying those chin rubs!

This handsome boy was brought in to us as he had what’s called ‘degloving’ injury to his tail. Degloving is when an extensive amount of skin is torn away from the underlying tissue on the tail.

After examination our amazing vet Rachel decided surgery would be the best option for poor Smudge. Rachel performed surgery to remove the tip of his tail which would reduce the risk of infection and allow for quicker recovery.

Our handsome Smudge has been back for his post op check and we are over the moon to say he is doing really well and should be able to have his ‘cone of shame’ off soon!

Smudge has always been so lovely and affectionate and did not let his tail bother him. What a star patient⭐️

Flo’s Ongoing Eye Problem

Poor old Flo had been battling against a sore eye for a while now. Medication was prescribed and although it eased the problem, in the end the best option to eliminate any pain or stress was to perform an enucleation which is the surgical removal of an eye. Dogs and cats adapt so quickly, and straight away she was bouncy and enjoying a walk in the car park. Let’s all wish Flo a speedy recovery!

Remember These Cuties?

So….today 3 of the Akita puppies came back in to see us for their second vaccination. What a difference 2 weeks makes! They have almost doubled in size and character. 🐾🐾❤
