Video Consults Help Us Take Care Of Your Pets

Meet handsome Ernie ❤️

Ernie was brought into our main hospital, Streatham Hill Vets after remote consultation with his owner revealed a large swelling on his face that had increased, quite drastically, in size within 24hours. Poor little man!

After listening to Ernie’s story and carrying out a fine needles aspirate, which revealed some pus, we were suspicious of a potential foreign body causing a local infection. Unfortunately we were not able to find anything hiding in there, it is not as easy as it sounds! But, we were able to remove the abscess and give the area a good flush and clean! Check that his teeth, ear and any puncture wounds were not causing the problem. As you can see immediately after the procedure Ernie looked a lot better! We are so pleased to hear that he is still currently doing with the medication he has been sent home on.

I’m sure you will all agree even with the swelling on his face he is still so handsome! Get well soon Ernie 🐾 🐶

Cuteness Alert

This beautiful bubba is Simba

Simba was brought into Mayow Vets as he had been having diarrhoea that made him feel quite unwell.
When he came into us, he was lethargic and cold.
It is important with small kittens and puppies to get them treatment quickly as they are still developing and can become quite ill very quickly.

Luckily with some treatment and lots of TLC we have been able to get him home to his worried mummy!

Beware Of Ticks

Look at these little critters….. these were removed from a hedgehog 🦔 These little bugs can fall off and attach themselves to your pets. They are found everywhere but more common in long grasses, marshy areas and livestock fields. They can make the host animal very poorly and can grow to around 1cm when fully engorged with blood! 🤢Not to creep you all out but they can also transmit Lyme disease to humans so it’s incredibly important to keep your pets up to date with your pet’s preventive health care! Did you know that our VIP plan covers all the preventative health care for your pets in a convenient monthly payment?Call or email our Reception team if you would like further information – we’d love you to join the Team Briar family 🥰🥰VIP Plans include:🐾 10% off ALL treatments and service🐾 ALL Preventative treatments 🐾 30% off Hills and Royal Canin food🐾 2 FREE consultations a year🐾 As many FREE nurses clinics as you need🐾 Free microchipping at sign up

Milo The Bearded Dragon

Milo came into see Vet Mark as he has been off his food and not behaving his usual self 🦎

Mark performed an ultrasound and X-Rays which found a mass in Milo’s intestines, which now requires further investigation.

If you have an exotic pet and are worried about their health, please give us a call at Croydon Vets and we can arrange a telephone or video consultation with Mark, who has a wealth of experience with a wide variety of species 📞📹
