Transparency at DNA Vetcare

Date: 14 Oct 2025
By: admin

At DNA Vetcare, transparency is at the heart of everything we do, from how we’re owned and run, to how we price our services and care for your pets.

DNA stands for Dane and Alan – Vets That Care.

We are two experienced veterinary surgeons with over 25 years of clinical experience each, who founded and continue to run DNA Vetcare. We’re not investors or financiers, we are vets who live locally, work in our practices, and are actively involved in every aspect of the business.

Genuine Independent Ownership

We are 100% independently owned: not backed by venture capital (VC) or private equity (PE). Our growth over the past 20 years has been achieved the traditional way: through reinvestment, hard work, and long hours, not external funding.

We are proud members of the FIVP (Federation of Independent Veterinary Practices), standing for independence and integrity in veterinary care.

In contrast, many of the largest veterinary groups in the UK present themselves as independent but are in fact owned by vast financial or corporate entities:

At DNA Vetcare, our ownership is open and transparent. You’ll see our logo and branding across our network of clinics, and our directors are visible and contactable. Our team members proudly wear uniforms and name badges, and the ownership of each practice is clear to clients and the profession alike.

Fair, Honest, and Transparent Pricing

We believe in clear and consistent pricing across our network.

  • Fixed-price dental packages
  • £99 out-of-hours fee, one of the most affordable in London
  • 10% discount for VIP members

We also display many of our prices online and provide estimates for all clients before treatment.

Our fees are designed to be fair and sustainable enabling us to deliver the high-quality care our communities deserve, while ensuring our teams have the time, resources, and caseloads needed to grow and thrive.

Caring, Professional, Service

These are our guiding principles and they underpin every decision we make.

Caring: Care for pets, clients, and our teams comes first. Every decision starts with compassion. We do what’s right for the animals and people we serve.

Professional: We value professionalism in every sense, from clinical excellence to clear communication. We follow robust protocols, attract and develop exceptional professionals, and invest heavily in training, technology, and equipment to keep our clinics at the forefront of veterinary medicine.

Service: We understand that great veterinary care includes great service. From online booking and digital messaging platforms to attentive in-person communication, we work tirelessly to make every interaction smooth, kind, and efficient.

A Partnership Approach

We run a successful partnership programme, enabling loyal and talented vets to become co-owners of their practices. This initiative keeps ownership within the community and ensures that each clinic is led by people who genuinely care about their patients and teams, not distant shareholders.

Accessible Leadership and Community Presence

Both founders remain clinically active vets and are visible within the profession and community.
Our directors live locally, regularly visit our sites, and continue to work alongside their teams.

We’ve also expanded responsibly by establishing 24-hour emergency centres in underserved areas such as Thanet and Scunthorpe, and introducing South London’s only MRI scanner, not because of profit targets, but because our communities needed better access to advanced care.

At DNA Vetcare, transparency isn’t a slogan – it’s how we operate.

We are proud to be independent, accountable, and driven by care — Vets That Care. It’s in our DNA.
