Two naughty dogs, one brave cat and more weekly highlights

Date: 17 Jun 2019
By: admin

During this gloomy week, our wonderful teams were always available to treat your precious pets providing golden care! As we are gradually opening up our services again, we’ve seen many puppies and kittens that needed their first set of vaccinations. If you welcomed a new member in your family during the lockdown or you are concerned that your pet’s vaccines might have lapsed, call our surgery to book an appointment with our incredible vets.

Mischief managed

A day for mischievous eaters!

Gorgeous Roxy decided to eat some of her owner’s lovely chocolates and Toffee couldn’t resist some clingfilm 🙈

Our lovely vet Felicity at Streatham Hill Vets was quick to help and gave both a vomit-inducing injection to empty the stomach! 💉

Both are back home now and feeling much better 💚

If you are concerned about your pet eating something naughty, please give us a call as soon as possible!

Grass seeds strike again

The beautiful Coco is one of two patients who had to stay with us at The Animal Clinic, due to those pesky grass seeds!

Poor Coco was brought to us by her owner as her left ear was very sore 😔 Our Vet Dominic examined Coco and admitted her for surgery, as he was suspicious she may have a grass seed stuck down her ear.

Coco was given sedation and Dominic spotted the grass seed, which had managed to travel deep down her ear. We are pleased to report the grass seed was removed from Coco’s ear and she recovered well from her sedation 😍

Grass seeds are a common issue for pets during the spring & summer seasons and can very easily cause issues. Grass seeds are able to penetrate the skin and cause wounds; they can even travel throughout the body too!

The most common areas where they tend to cause problems are in the ears and paws; however they can also enter their armpits and tails too.

It is very important to check your pets thoroughly after being outside, to be able to remove any grass seeds from the fur before they can embed themselves into the skin. Regular grooming and avoiding long grass are also great methods to prevent this issue 👍😊 Click on the link to find out more about grass seeds.

Lovely Coco was very brave and enjoyed lots of fuss ❤️

Bundle of cuteness

❤️ Puppy Cuteness ❤️

These gorgeous pups visited our branch at Croydon Vets to see our amazing vet Mark 🩺 for their first vaccinations 💉 and microchips.

They are a mix of King Charles Spaniel, Dachshund and Labrador. 🐶

They were all very brave during their visit 🏥

Korg has saved the day!

Big thanks to Korg and her very lovely mum who donated her blood to another feline in need 🐱 🩸 💉

🌟What a star she is and Team Briar House are very grateful for your help🌟
