Weekly News And Coronavirus Risk To Your Pets

Date: 11 Mar 2020
By: admin

We are all worried about the spread of the new coronavirus causing COVID-19. So for all of us pet lovers it is even more concerning to hear that a dog in Hong Kong has tested weakly positive for the virus. In the video above, our senior vet, Dane, discusses what we know about coronavirus and the risk to your pets.

A Dozen Stones

This gorgeous girl is Daisy, owned by one of the receptionists from our Mayow clinic, Tina.
Daisy has been suffering from ongoing cystitis issues and a scan determined that she had bladder stones. We werenโ€™t sure how many were in there but once our senior vet, Corina, operated she found at least a dozen large stones.
These stones form when chemicals in the urine create crystals which, over time, bind together to form large stones. Surgery, together with a special prescription diet, should hopefully stop these crystals forming in the future.
Hopefully now she will start to feel like her old self again. Wishing you a swift recovery Daisyย โค๏ธ

A Shocking Attack

One of our own has been in the wars!ย ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข

This is little Tommy and he belongs to our nurse George. He sadly, through no fault of his own, got on the wrong side of an unfriendly, loose dog yesterday who caused these injuries to him!

George rushed Tommy to the surgery and vet Leanne triaged him and started to put him back together again.

Thankfully, after taking xrays, they were relieved to find no internal damage so it was a case of clipping, flushing, placing a drain and stitching up.

George is giving Tommy 5* nursing care for his recovery and we will post progress pictures throughout.

Get well soon sweet Tommy xx

Welcome Little Pups

This was our very lovely emergency last night…. Here is Coco and her new additions!

Coco was struggling to labour without intervention so we headed to theatre to assist their birth!

Four health pups and one healthy, contented mum – just beautiful!!

Cases like this really prove the worth of our own on-site emergency service!!

Check out the video in the comments….ย ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ
