Now that the weather is finally warming up for Summer, we need to be careful that our furry friends don’t over-exert themselves in the heat. Heatstroke is very common in dogs, particularly in the brachycephalic (‘squashed face’) breeds as they have more difficulty in oxygenating themselves properly when they exercise, however, all dogs are at risk.
Meet gorgeous Tortoise Maureen (known as Maud) 🐢
Maud’s owner rehomed her 42 years ago in 1978! It is estimated that she is around 50 years old. 😯
Maud came to see us 🏥 as she was struggling to eat and required a beak trim. This is a painless procedure and is similar to cutting a nail.
Our amazing team of nurse Adam and vet Mark carried out the procedure 🩺 and now Maud can go back to enjoying her food 😃
This is the very adorable Arti 😍
We’ve all fallen a little in love with him and, as you can see, been giving him lots of TLC 🥰
Poor little Arti visited our Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery as he had a VERY swollen anal gland, which was not responding to treatment ☹️
Under sedation, our fab vet, Mary-Louise, flushed it out and applied some topical anti-fungal and anti-bacterial treatment to the area.
Hopefully, that’ll do the trick and little Arti will be feeling much more comfortable now! 💛
Look at that face😻
Spikey has been in a few times recently as her owner was concerned about her watery eye and nasal discharge.
She was in our Mayow Veterinary Surgery, having not only lots of TLC but some further investigations to see what could be causing poor Spikeys problems.🩺
The Xrays, our amazing vet Rachel carried out are all clear and there were no concerns at all. Some samples and swabs have been sent to the lab so we just have to wait for her results.🔬
Spikey was such a superstar, what a sweet little lady she is💗⭐️
This adorable little pooch is Kobe 💚
Kobe visited our Croydon Vets surgery for his second vaccination which will protect him from all sorts of nasty diseases 💉. He was so brave during his visit and was very happy to have copious amounts of cuddles with our amazing Vet Mark.
