Puppy Overload

An exciting week for our surgeries as we had two caesarian procedures and 8 SUPERCUTE newborn puppies. Read the lovely stories of Lily and Willow below.

Lily’s story

Team Briar had the honour of assisting Lily to bring her little pup into the world! What a special day 😍😍😍

On examination and imaging, it was obvious that Lily was going to struggle to bring the large-sized pup into the world safely so our fabulously skilled Enrico performed an emergency caesarian to remove the pup safely. Enrico was assisted by our wonderful Registered nurse Justine who performed Lily’s anaesthetic and kept her safely asleep and pain-free!

The knowledgable and experienced nursing team were on hand to assist in the delivery and play ‘mum’ until Lily was recovered from her surgery and ready to meet her offspring!

We discharged Lily and her pup home that afternoon to recover. Lily proved to be a thoroughly attentive mum from the beginning so sure she’ll take it all in her stride!🐶😍🐶🍼😍🐶🍼😍🐶🍼😍🐶🍼😍🐶🍼😍

Willow and her babies

Just look at proud Mum Willow with her adorable newborn babies after her emergency Cesarian Section. Poor Willow had given birth to one puppy naturally but was having trouble continuing to give birth (dystocia) so worried Mum and Dad quickly brought her to Lakeview Vets.

After a clinical examination by our lovely Veterinary Surgeon Clemence, Willow was rushed to theatre for major surgery to remove the remaining puppies from her uterus under general anaesthesia. On removal, the puppies were stimulated to breathe, closely monitored and kept warm by our amazing veterinary staff Melissa and Shell. Dear Willow and puppies have recovered well as you can see from this amazing video.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
