Your surgery update: What you need to know

Date: 29 Jul 2021
By: admin

Now that COVID-19 cases are on the decline throughout the United Kingdom, we’re feeling optimistic for the future.

But we all know we’re not out of the woods yet. That’s why we’re taking some extra-careful steps moving forward. We live to see happy, healthy animals, but we care for our staff and clients too. Read on to find out our London and Kent vet surgeries’ latest stance on the easing of lockdown, what you need to know, and actions that we’re taking to create a safe, friendly environment for everybody.

We’ve got keen eyes on COVID-19 statistics day-by-day, so make sure to check back for weekly updates. We’re all in this together, and we hope soon we can fully return to normal.

Latest COVID-19 update: 29 July 2021

Here’s what we’re doing to keep our staff, you and your pet protected.

  • All our staff are continuing to wear PPE
  • All reception desks within our surgeries will feature perspex shielding.
  • As always, our staff will maintain the highest levels of hygiene. Hand sanitiser will also be provided.

Due to the size of our consultation rooms, the level of ventilation in most veterinary consultation rooms and the vaccination status of some of our staff, we will ask you to help us stay safe by doing the following.

  • Continue to wear protective face coverings when within our surgeries.
  • Wash your hands upon entry with the hand sanitiser provided.
  • Maintain social distancing both whilst waiting outside, and within our surgery.
  • Wait either outside the surgery or in the waiting room whilst we see your pet.
  • Wait within our designated areas. Only one client will be allowed in at any one time.

Please do not attend the surgery if you have experienced COVID symptoms within 10 days or if you are currently isolating.

We hope you understand our decision which we feel is in the best interests of our staff, our clients and your pets. We have managed to maintain a service at all our surgeries for the entire duration of the pandemic and we greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation to enable us to continue to do so. Our dedicated teams are here for your pets and we will keep you updated on developments.

Stay tuned to this blog for further updates regarding our COVID-19 policy. As infections continue to decline, we hope to see all of our surgeries return to normal in due course. In the meantime we wish you and your pet to stay happy, stay healthy and contact us if you experience any issues.

Remember that we provide a 24 Hour vetcare service for you and your furry friend.

For those moments when your precious pet needs an emergency vet, our 24Hour Vetcare service is here for you 7 days a week.

At Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery we have extended our opening hours and our experienced vets are ready and waiting to provide vet care at our Animal Hospital. Around-the-clock emergency vet care for South London pets.

You can contact us any time of day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year  on 020 8674 3525
